On 26 August 2026, IOMed Secretary-General Prof. Teresa Cheng attended the International Bar Association (IBA) Asia Pacific Arbitration Group Symposium during the Singapore Convention Week 2026, and spoke as panelist at the session “ISDS Mediation – A New Frontier”.
Noting the encouraging growth in the global use of mediation to resolve investor-State disputes, Prof. Cheng highlighted the unique value of mediators as third-party neutrals in rebuilding trust between disputants and facilitating an amicable settlement that preserves long-term partnerships. She also undercored the strong complimentarity between IOMed and the Singapore Convention on Mediation, providing both “hardware” and “software” for a global mediation ecosystem.
