On 28 August 2026, IOMed Secretary-General Prof. Teresa Cheng met with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs H.E. Airlangga Hartarto during her visit to Indonesia.
Prof. Cheng briefed the Coordinating Minister on the development of IOMed. She expressed gratitude for Indonesia’s active support for IOMed, and the hope to see Indonesia become an IOMed Contracting State soon.
Noting the increasing endorsement of the value of mediation across the world, Prof. Cheng also highlighted the contribution that IOMed could make to Indonesia’s economic prosperity by providing an effective and efficient dispute resolution mechanism.
H.E. Airlangga Hartarto recognized the advantages of mediation, including the flexibility it offers, and agreed with the need to raise awareness among Indonesian businesses of IOMed as a new option for amicable dispute settlement.
