On 9 June 2026, IOMed Secretary-General Prof. Teresa Cheng made a courtesy call on the Honorable Tahar Mamouni, First President of the Supreme Court of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, in Algiers.
The two sides had a cordial exchange on issues of mutual interest. Mr. Mamouni gave a comprehensive introduction to Prof. Cheng on the crucial role of the Supreme Court in the Algerian legal system, as well as Algeria’s practices in court-annexed mediation.
Prof. Cheng expressed appreciation for the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Algeria’s judicial development, and shared with Mr. Mamouni the latest developments of IOMed, including success stories of IOMed-administered mediation.
