On 8 June 2026, IOMed Secretary-General Prof. Teresa Cheng made a courtesy call on His Excellency Lotfi Boudjemaa, Minister of Justice of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, in Algiers.

Prof. Cheng expressed sincere appreciation for Algeria’s support to IOMed as a Signatory State to the IOMed Convention. She briefed Minister Boudjemaa on the latest progress achieved by IOMed since its inauguration last October, including in case administration and capacity building, as well as its plans for future development.

Minister Boudjemaa extended warm welcome to Prof. Cheng for visiting Algeria. He reaffirmed that Algeria attaches great importance to amicable resolution of disputes through mediation both domestically and internationally, and will continue to support the work of IOMed.

The two sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest concerning mediation.
