On 24 August 2026, during her visit to Bangkok, Thailand, Secretary-General Prof. Teresa Cheng attended the IOMed promotional event held in collaboration with the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
Prof. Cheng gave a comprehensive introduction on IOMed to the participating Thai businesses, encouraging them to incorporate mediation in their dispute resolution toolkit. She also answered questions from the audience, including on the enforceability of mediated settlement agreements and complimentarity between IOMed and the Singapore Convention on Mediation.
President of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce Mr. Narongsak Putthapornmongkol delivered welcoming remarks at the event, recognizing the value of mediation for businesses as a flexible and amicable means of dispute resolution.
Representatives of various renowned companies in Thailand attended the event.
