On 6 August 2026, Secretary-General Prof. Teresa Cheng delivered virtually a speech titled “Cross-Border Mediation: the Singapore and IOMed Conventions” to the IV International Summer School on Mediation of the Central Asian Mediators Consortium.
In the speech, Prof. Cheng touched on the advantages of mediation, how IOMed fills the institutional gap in international dispute settlement, what IOMed offers to mediators, how IOMed and the Singapore Convention interact, and prospects for mediation in Central Asia.
The Central Asian Mediators Consortium is a regional professional network bring together mediation centers and organizations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
