IOMed is the world’s first treaty-based intergovernmental organization dedicated to resolving international disputes through mediation. At the time of inauguration in October 2025, IOMed had 37 Signatory States, including 8 Contracting States. We now have 48 Signatory or Acceding States, 18 of which are Contracting States.
Marking the first anniversary of IOMed’s establishment, we will host the IOMed 1st Anniversary Celebration on 20 October. The Reception celebrates a significant milestone in the advancement of international mediation and peaceful dispute resolution. It will also underscore the unique role of Hong Kong, where the Headquarters of IOMed is located, as an international legal and dispute resolution services centre.
Professor Teresa Cheng, Secretary General of IOMed, will join government representatives, members of the diplomatic community, legal and dispute resolution professionals, business leaders, international partners and friends from all sectors to celebrate IOMed’s achievements in its first year, and reaffirm their shared commitment to dialogue, peace and cooperation.
