On 13 February 2026, IOMed Secretary-General Prof. Teresa CHENG Yeuk-wah SC attended the “Hatamen International Salon – Global Perspectives on Eastern Mediation” hosted by the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO) in Beijing, China.
Delivering a keynote speech at the event, Prof. Cheng recounted the latest developments in the field of international mediation, and comprehensively elaborated on the significance, membership, mandate, vision, panels of mediators and mediation rules of IOMed by introducing the “why, where, what, when, who and how” of the Organization. She also affirmed IOMed’s readiness to work with institutions like ICDPASO to promote greater use of mediation in dispute settlement.
Other attendees of the event include Mr. LIU Jiannan, Chairman of ICDPASO and Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Ms. ZHANG Yuejiao, Former Judge and Chair of the WTO Appellate Body, and speakers from the Law Society of Singapore, the Law Society of Hong Kong, the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, etc.
